I work for a Houston software company. It always floods. Hardly a month goes by where I hear a story from someone about how an area or streets are flooded. At our annual sales meeting in January, many were trapped in the company apartment because the parking lot was flooded.
Everyone in Houston should know what areas are prone to fast flooding, admitting this is historic in the amount of rain.
I don't think I would need someone to tell me to leave, if I watched metorologists.
Thankfully everyone at my company is mostly dry.
I'm no expert, but Houston is growing so fast, that I don't think the infrastructure can keep up and that whole is almost concrete. No place for the water to go.
I know a profesor as UGA who did a calculation....he put houston and the nearby coast in a triangle, did a bunch of mathy stuff anc calculated that within that area - enough rain has falled to fill up Lake Martin 6 times.
I'll look for his article and post.
