Unfortunately, all that they are promising will appeal to Millenials and to a big section of the population who have always had things handed to them.  Most of them they will not be able to deliver these things, but they will end up in office and will apply this kind of thinking to a vast array of other things.  I was watching one of the talking head shows yesterday and someone pointed out that the biggest threat to national security for our country is the vast divide.

Maybe I am just bitter because it is doubtful that I will be on the recieving end of any of the freebies, and will be in the section that will be expected to pay for it all.

I look at my niece who is 20 and is in a 5 year program to become an Occupational Therapist.  Her parents and scholarships have pretty much taken care of her education and she has never actually worked.  So this summer, she was required to take an anatomy class and work in an OT clinic.  She didn't have any kind of paying job, yet she was complaining about having to work all summer.  I told her to welcome to "adulthood", which made my sister furious that I would be so uncaring to say such a thing because she was having to work so hard.  She has still never worked in a paying job in her life, and my sister is praying that, after school, she will come home and live with her.  My sister also has plans to pay for a wedding (should she ever have a boyfriend that wants to marry) and buy her her first home.  My sister and her husband are not rich and are in debt, paying for her education and a new car for her.  My niece, of course is planning to vote Democratic and especially likes Bernie Sanders.   She is representative of the people that will be voting in this next election.  We're looking at a generation of people who have had everything handed to them, praised and petted and not ever made to compete.  That is who is voting for these people.
