Good question to which I have no good answer. All it would take to have a loaded weapon is to cut the zip tie and load it up. I think it's just a symbolic gesture to appease non-attendees and perhaps to keep attendees safe from the one person who knows nothing of gun safety and has brought Grandpa's old gun it to sell. I am sure there are numerous concelaed weapons at every show. Personally, having them disabled make me less able to fully inspect the firearm and for that reason I do not like it.
