I think that Trump's appeal is the "anti-politician".  I think people like his outspoken style because they realize that is who he is.  He's not changing his message to suit this group or that group given the audience.  And inexplicably, they believe he has "style".  He is unabashably a product of the American system - bold, brash and totally confident.  You might remember that these are the same characteristics that people liked about Sarah Palin.
