Normally I would agree with your statement, but something out of the ordinary seems that be going n. Over the weekend most of the increase was sucked out overnight. I didn't measure or check posted levels but just from observation they took several inches, maybe up up to 6 or so. All the rivers and creeks are running high and fast. So much so that the river cruise barge from Montgomery has been stuck in south Alabama unable to return upstream after its annual inspection in mobile. Last week they spent 18 hours just to travel about 15 miles due to excess current. There are also issues getting under some bridges because the river level is so high.
I have been working in GA the last few weeks and going over the Tallapoosa at Wadley. It is consistently within a couple of feet of leaving its banks there and running very fast. Makes me go hmm.
