“Architectural styles –with special regard for the classical architectural style– that value beauty, respect regional architectural heritage, and command admiration by the public, are the preferred styles for applicable federal public buildings.”
“Where applicable, federal public buildings are built in a style other than a preferred architectural style … great care and consideration must be taken to choose a beautiful design that conveys the dignity, enterprise, vigor, and stability of America’s system of self-government.”
The general public is encouraged to add commentary to the designs.
This is currently stated in the order from what I have researched.
And you Archie, have a problem with this? Do you consider the HUD building architecturally pleasing? How about the DOE building? The J. Edgar Hoover building is a real architectural gem. I have spent innumerable hours in the National Museum of Art and find the newer East Wing addition an eyesore compared to the older wing. Please offer to us your best choice of Washington DC modernistic architecture and lets compare it to the worst Washington DC classical piece. Beauty is said to be in the eyes of the beholder, and in this case, Trump is allowing public commentary and a form of a homeowners association "architectural review committee" input on the architectectural profession's cabal on federal office building design. What an exciting and novel concept Archie, general public input into even the intricacies of federal design. MAGA.
