I agree he should admit it since he is the one always bringing it up ... but the guy is trying to save face with crazy explanations. He has lost all credibility. So lets let it go. I just think it is sad he has to constantly demonstrate envy. What people have is not what makes them happy. If he is satisfied with his life and family, that is all that should matter ... not what others have or their success. Maybe that is the problem, he is not happy or has not achieved what he wanted to in life. That could be why he believe in sharing the wealth. If that is the case I feel sorry for him.
