I seem to recall that one of the questions on the FFL is that the gun is for your personal use - since straw purchases are illgeal, as Lifer points out. The thing is that you can lie on the form, but there really isn't much recourse that has been done for lying on the form. We don't need more gun laws, we just need them to enforce the ones that exist. But as someone else correctly pointed out - if you want a gun, you will get a gun, because there is no FFL requirement on person to person purchases. One need only look at Chicago to see this is true. Additionally, in states that has the 3 day hold on handguns purchases - if the background check doesn't respond within the day waiting period, then the gun dealer can complete the pruchase.
