Clinton apologist? Not sure about that, I just haven't heard good solid cases made about why she should be called crooked. From my POV, she has been in that political arena for her whole life... accumulating a long record of things she has been associated with. I was not in favor of invading Iraq but she was. Turned out it was a huge mistake, but frankly the whole country was spoiling for that misbegotten fight after 9/11... She has those high unlikeablity ratings for reasons that may have to do with her personal style, perhaps also the fact that she has been a woman in a very male-dominated political theatre....I don't know exactly why people dislike her so much except that she probably epitomizes liberal Democratic positions to a large segment of the country that is frightened of that agenda.
Right now, what I am hearing you say is that everyone should be so fed up & frustrated with the direction of the country that you would be willing to elect anybody just to create the chaos needed for a radical change in our society. The fact that Trump promises to be an aggressive and largely unpredictable President is apparently what a lot of people think would be a good idea. This narrative assumes that he will do no harm, and the chaos he creates will eventually create a more orderly and rational government. In a way, it assumes a belief that nothing can go really wrong with someone like Trump at the helm, and that chaos will lead to order. I didn't think Conservatives like the idea of chaos & disorder. And I've never known a Conservative argue that risky societal disruptions were good policy...until now. Used to be, only the wild-eyed leftists called for The Revolution. It's odd that conservatives have changed so much.
On a foreign policy side, Trump's mis-steps based on his poor use of facts and impulsive, even hostile, reactions should be something we all see as really dangerous. On the domestic side, his policy proposals to deport 11 million people will require a huge outlay of law enforcement costs and an internment camp system that will dwarf the internment of Japanese Americans in the 1940's. He will also attack Muslims by banning entry, perhaps setting up registries of US Muslims. That kind of race or religion based punative action will surely cause a huge counter-action on behalf of minority people and their sympathizers...many of whom will rightly see this as an attack on religious freedom and pure government sponsored racism.
Chicken little? Does everyone here think that the world is such a safe and predictable place.......with peace so firmly entrenched in the hearts & minds of men the world over... brotherly love reigning over all.... that we can confidently take our chances with a reincarnated PT Barnum? Isn't that the bet you are asking everyone to take with Trump?
