I never said I supported the current bill as written. I am WAITING to see how it is finally amended, and as I understand it, those amendments are still being written. At the same time, I'm not going to waste my time railing about something that I don't yet understand. The majority of people in this country believe health care needs some kind of reform. I believe this as well. Like others here, I don't think it needs a complete overhaul, but adjustments likely need to be made to ensure that all legal citizens have at least basic coverage. One of the things that is off the table, tort reform, is something I feel needs to be addressed.
It's hardly a secret that Medicare and Medicaid are not financially solvent. Perhaps they need to implement a sliding scale of co-pays for seniors.
The truth is, I listen to all sides of the argument, and I still don't know the answer. But, I think it is important to discuss it. Like a lot of people, I don't want to see them in a rush to put something, anything in place. I think Obama and the Hill could take 4 years to work on this and get it right.
