So the diehard Dems are circulating petitions to have electoral college electors change their votes from Trump, as their populations voted to Clinton because of some claim tha Clinton won the "popular vote". There are a couple problems with that. First, you don't change the rules of a contest after the contest is over. More troubling is the second reason, that the popular vote at this point is undetermined, because if the number of absentee and provisional ballots is less than the margin of victory in that precinct/locale, there is no reason to count them, and thus they are not included in the popular vote totals being trumpeted by the losing side. It is not a given that counting all absentee and provisional ballots would result in Clinton having more votes than Trump. Only if ALL votes are counted would a claim of winning the popular vote have any merit. But that is not going to happen.
So if the Dems want to abolish the electoral college, submit legislation to do so, but accept the results of the game that were determined by the rules in effect at the time of voting.
