Just watched the Hannity piece on Alvin Holmes.  As screwed up as it might seem, Holmes got out of that what he needed.  Someone uninformed about Alabama politics might take the comments of ALL on Hannity that Alvin is bigoted, etc as a negative.  Not so Holmes.  I worked with a black gent for quite a while, and asked him once how Alvin Holmes kept getting elected time after time.  His answer was simple and telling "Jim, look at the electorate he represents".  Nuff said.
