Uh GF, you actually have this all wrong. He was called the messiah and routinely spoken of in messianic terms by his devotees and not by me or anyone on the right. Believe me, I and others use that term for him with total derision. He is no messiah, he is a big government statist and he is wrong on almost every issue.

As for the alleged focus of conservatives on his religion, birth status, etc. I believe I pointed out above that all that is a waste of time and actually benefits him politically. But let's face facts, if three people in the entire country were fixated on these issues, the president and the government media would try to discredit all conservatives that oppose his policies by trying to cast them in the same light. Evidence for said claim is the way he artfully lumps all Tea Party members in with the few nut jobs that have gone overboard. Millions in the Tea Party = one or two nut jobs......very smart politically when you can't gin up support for your policies based on the facts. Saul Alinsky would be proud......

Of course we all know that the only real violence that has occurred has been perpetrated by the left wing nuts and union thugs....all Dem voters.
