I installed a Flotec irrigation pump as a replacement a few years ago and it has worked great. Purchased at Home Depot. It has a thermoplastic case which will not corrode or rust. It is outdoors and I cover it with an old shower curtain liner so the motor stays dry. The pump is 1 1/2 HP and I can water an area of 50x125 without any zones. I installed a digital timer and can set various combo of days and time to water. I run 6 lines and 8 sprinkler heads and a soaker hose all at the same time.
The pump is a volume pump and not designed as a deep well pump. The water level where I am using it is 18ft down. It does not need a pressure tank on top.
