We can only hope that Aunt Jemina got something for her recipe and her appearances.  I read two different things - one said she was well compenstated and another said she got nothing.  

I think that what is missed is that so many black cooks were celebrated for their cooking - and some of the best food came from black cooks. So to see it reduced to racism is rather sad.
