Hillary was never President. Unless you still believe in the Russia collusion nonsense....which you probably do because of TDS. I suggest you look at what Jonathon Turley and Alan Dershowitz have said and written about this indictment. Even the WaPo in a moment of random journalism stated that this was a terrible case to indict a former President for the first time in the history of the country. But like I said, all bets are off and red state DA's now have an open season hunting license for former Democrat Presidents. Like all the other cases of Democrat overreach it will come back to haunt them...bigly.
As for me I not only regret it for the awful precedent it sets, especially given it having already been rejected twice by Federal prosecutors, but because it makes it more likely that Trump will win the nomination. And more likely he will lose in 2024....which means we will have another four years of objectively awful results for the country.
I suggest you also look at the standard they will have to meet to convict. In order to prove fraud under this statute not only do they have to overcome lousy, lying witnesses and the statute of limitations but they have to prove that Trump stole the money from someone else. Since we already know he repaid Cohen though a legal fee charge that will be impossible to prove because it never happened. Bragg knew all this but went ahead anyway...because of politics. And even if he is convicted in NYC, something highly likely to happen given the jury pool, he will win on appeal. Only a politically corrupt Soros bought and paid for DA would have pursued this....not to mention his own TDS.
