In 2014 over $268B were charged on AMEX cards worldwide so $32.9B in revenue means they take in 12% of total charges in revenue which to me seems  high but given what they charge for fees and interest it probably makes sense.  I am surprised that the Costco AMEX card represents over half of their total charges and am a little dubious.  I agree that they will miss the fees and interest more than the revenue stream.
