i verticle jig by spoon. i use a 1 oz spoon type for spots and a 2 oz for stripers that are deep. i find the fish with my lowrance, drop the spoon to just above them and pop the spoon keeping in contact with the lure. almost always the hit is on the fall. sometimes if there are multible fish in the school, i will free spool through them and if they are in a feeding mood, usually will get a strike on the fall.
