I agree with your analysis. Bernie did horribly with over 50 voters primarily because they actually understand what socialism is and that it doesn't work....unless your goal is equal misery for the masses while the more equal pigs live in luxury. And no doubt there is incredible enthusiasm on the GOP side for Trump. My original plan was to vote for Bernie in the Georgia primary just to keep him going but I may actually change my mind if it doesn't look like a brokered convention....which is looking less likely every day.
Where I think Biden is really going to struggle is in two areas. While he garners a lot of the black vote I am having a hard time believing they will come out for him the way they did for Obama. And given the current state of the employment numbers Trump may do better than normal with that demographic than he did in 2016. Maybe that alone will force Biden to pick a black VP who would also likely be a woman. He will also struggle with right leaning, working class independents. They like what Trump has done on employment, border issues, taxes, etc. And they will look at Biden and his mental acuity issues and have to ask themselves if they can really vote for him or would it really be a vote for the VP who they may not like.
