Okay, Ya'll don't kill me for posting this, and understand I'm in NO way affiliated with any restaurant. I just want good food when I go out to eat. Tonight, after reading some of the comments this week about the 'other' oyster bar on Hwy 34 near Poplar Dawg, husband and I went there for dinner. Husband got the dozen oysters and they were large, fresh, and (his words) some of the best oysters he's ever had. I got the crab claw appetizer, and they were wonderful. I should have made that my meal. We didn't know how large the appetizers would be, so we also ordered two entrees - the fried shrimp and the grilled shrimp. Salads were crisp, beer was cold, shrimp were the best around.
Now, the place isn't fancy, but the service was excellent as was the food. We will definitely go back, and recommend any of you in the area give it a try. The only things we recommended were that they serve iced tea (don't now), and change the music. The manager/owner told us he was adding to the menu next week (including adding crab cakes) with more appetizers, sandwiches, etc.
Oh, and the owner genuinely wanted to know how he could improve anything. Nice touch, huh?
