What exactly is an "assault style rifle"?  Since Dementia Joe has stated that all you need is a double barrel shotgun, I would guess that a repeating rifle fits that description.  Oh, and he also recommends shooting through a door or firing a warning shot into the air…  So we have a soon-to-be president (lower case is intentional) advocating shooting without being able to verify your target or anything beyond, AND sending projectiles into the air with no regards as to where they will come down.   

Comparing the GCA of 1934 (NFA) is illogical.  MSR’s (Modern Service Rifles) and rifles in general are seldom used in crimes; so when they are banned and the crime rates spike – what next – ban the handguns that ARE more likely to be used in the commission of a crime?  This is not common sense – this is a gun grab.  IF magazines of over 10 rounds are subject to NFA, do you have any idea how many of those are in the hands of civilians?  I believe that Phil is incorrect about the impact of just the “assault rifle” part of this – from the numbers I have seen, as of last year there were close to 19 million of those in private hands.  And I can guarantee that there are FAR more that did not go through a 4473 originally, so you will not have a true count.  Those vicious AR-15’s have been sold to the public since 1962, so obviously they are NOT the problem.  And about the loophole in background checks…  If you buy a gun from a dealer, they are in deep doodoo if they do not have you fill out the paperwork.  When I pass down guns to my grandson, I guess you think that I should take all of them to a dealer to process the “transfer”.  And if I cannot transfer a gun or magazine on the NFA list to a family member without an approved Form 4, as far as I am concerned, THAT is infringing on my rights.  You profess to be a gun owner, how can you not see the slippery slope that these restrictions have ALWAYS led to in other countries.  And about those Red Flag laws – how does that compare to “swatting”?  Yup, I am sure that nobody would lie and say that they believed you to be a threat to yourself or someone else just because you pi$$ed them off – just like they would not call the police and report that you had taken someone hostage at gunpoint.

About the taxes – your hero said that he wants to get rid of the tax breaks that Trump pushed for – you know – the one that Pelosi said were crumbs?  Before my wife retired, we were FAR from $800K, but we DID benefit from those crumbs, and I would like to keep the money that we EARNED, thanks anyway.  

The virus…  My wife and I are older, and my parents and FIL are what I would consider elderly.  We are careful, we watch where we go, and do wear masks when we are inside a public building unless we have made it to our seats in a restaurant which is a COVID free zone.  But when stuff like this is mandated, that is closer to oppression…  The masks HELP prevent you from spreading the virus, but that is all.  If I wear my painting respirator, I am confident that I would not get COVID, but whatever.
