Coosa County GIS Maps say that land is Alabama Power's. I suspect what they are doing is monetizing the land in a periodic forestation effort. It's not just pines as that forest had a lot of hardwoods also and we've seen log trucks with oak and maple logs. For years that land has had vehicles parked as if it was being hunted on (weekends during hunting season).
I wonder if Alabama Power has their own power pole mill. They could harvest their own land in that effort.
