Moldy, it's called algae...and it happens every year during hot summer months.  Get over it.

You make some pretty strong statements about "disgraceful" things happening to Lake Martin, that it is a "cesspool", a "mass of raw sewage and fertilizer".  Care to share your source of information on how polluted Lake Martin is?  Or is this simply your opinion?

The facts are a bit different as shown by 25 years of Lake Watch volunteer water quality testing on more than 30 sites on and around the lake.  Our data is analyzed by some pretty smart people at Auburn University and is shared with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.  It's also backed up by periodic scientific studies by AU and testing by Alabama Power Company.  So whether you agree or not, Lake Martin is considered to be the cleanest lake in the state.

I suspect many readers will disagree with you.
