The vast majority of CC folks (men and women) do so without ever revealing such.  They are well aware that having a loaded weapon present is disconcerting to many.  The sheep are extremely wary of the sheepdog because he has the same equipment as a wolf.

I would suspect that there is far more concealed carry going on than most folks realize. And, if they do… they go into denial.  As long as the sheep do not have to look at the “gun” they aren’t disquieted.

The majority of CC folks strap it on and then go normally about their lives (in public).  They do not focus on being armed… indeed, most CC holsters are designed for comfort as well as concealment.  The CC citizen has an awesome responsibility… that includes training and practice… and being realistic about their own capabilities.  For most, they will never have to resort to even revealing their weapon.  But… if your “ten seconds of courage” gets called up.  YOU have to make a decision.  Not having your weapon with you is a decision… that you made at the wrong time of day.

Buy an effective CC weapon that is right for your skill set

Get a proper CC permit

Get trained (preferably by law enforcement)

Practice, practice, practice

Never leave home without it

Keep it to yourself - Your weapon is not an extension of your personality… it is taking responsibility for your safety and that of those around you.
