I watched with fascination last week about the epic fail by cnnBS, cBS and pmsnBS regarding the email to Trump, Jr regarding wikileaks.  I foolishly thought the crap would hit the fan about this one but it turns out to be SOP.  Breathless wall to wall coverage of some fake news item followed by some questions about its accuracy and finally an obscure correction that never gets 1/100th of the coverage of the initial lie.  No matter, the damage was done and 99% of those that heard the lie will never hear the retraction.

This story is particularly egregious as it was originally reported that the email was sent ten days before wikileaks released the emails.  According not only to cnnBS, but cBS and pmsnBS all claimed to have confirmed the accuracy of the report.  As it turns out the email was dated on same day as the wikileaks release.  For crying out loud, can someone explain how three separate fake news orgs get this wrong and with the same false information?  I know.....its a rhetorical question. All possible explanations are damning.  Either they were all told the same lie and never actually verified it by actually reading the email which was clearly dated on the 14th.  Or cnnBS got it wrong and the others lied about having confirmed it.  Or they all lied and conspired to pass along this shocking bit of fake news.  I would like to credit this to gross incompetence but I know better.

I have long been skeptical of anything that comes out of the govt media complex.  I think from now on my initial reaction will be that they are lying unless and until it can be independently verified.  I really wonder if they realize their TDS is making it impossible to believe them about anything?  Or don't they care as long as they accomplish their goal of damaging the Trump administration and any and all means, including lying, is permissible.  You can whine all you want about Trump decrying the fake news but as long as the media conducts themselves in such a shabby, dishonest and unethical way they have only themselves to blame.
