I had talked with the water patrol early last season. He informed me that the buoys that were placed at the Rock were fine. He had a problem with mine and with a few adjustments resolved. It is perfectly legal to have a buoy there as long as the position does not interfer with traffic or main waterway. The owner of the buoy is responsible for any damage done by the buoy through contact of another boat. However, once placed there the buoy becomes public property. I never asked anyone to untie from mine. I actully ended up meeting some nice people over the Summer that were tied to it.
I questioned a water patrol about the buoys yesterday. The water patrol had nothing to do with the removal of the buoys.
