I went to the lake for a few hours Friday evening. Put in at 6pm at Willow Point and headed for a roadbed. Started out slow but things picked up quickly. First fish was a 6" spot. The action really got fun when we run up on a school of stripe bass. No real size to them but they were still great fun to bring to the boat. We caught them on a fat free shad white in color. When that bite turned off we headed to the back of the cove and found a few more small spots. The only real keeper of the day came at the very back of the creek off a stump. A spot that went 2 07. We were scared off by an upcoming thunderstorm that was spitting lightning everywhere. We can take a hint and called it a night around 8:30. I plan to hit the northern sections of the lake today.
