We got a new phone number 16 months ago. (MONTHS.) Since then, hardly a day goes by that we don't get calls for the people who used to have the number; from the nature of the calls, he is a doctor, and she is in real estate.
At first it was understandable. When we answer a call for one of them, we explain that this is no longer their number. But most of the messages wind up going to the machine. And it was on one of those machine-messages yesterday that we learned that someone was calling the real estate woman because she had left her card at their residence, so obviously she is handing out business cards that still have her old number on them. That might have been the last straw.
Of course, we would like to take this up with those people personally, but the only info we have on them is their old-- our current-- phone number, so that won't work.
So if you know a doctor who is married to a real estate person, and they got a new phone number about 16 months ago, please tell them that starting March 1, we'll tell anyone who calls for the doctor that he lost his license after he was caught selling narcotics to grade-schoolers. And anyone who calls for the real estate person will be shocked to learn that she ran off with Alfonso, the 16-year-old kid who was doing their yardwork.
Maybe THAT will make them care enough to let their friends and clients know that they have a new phone number.
