20-27 July 2011 – Lake Guntersville – What a week on Guntersville, sorry for the delayed report but with long hours and the continued heat, please if your going out in this heat drink lots of water and use a good sun screen. This past week I fished with clients from Water Front to Nickajack Dam. We found some good fish on topwater and still on the road beds. With the exception of one day (last Sunday) my clients caught fish all day as we adjusted for the day time temps. We focused on drops and road beds with grass close by and ledges catching lots of good quality fish in the 2-3.5 pound range, working 5-18 FOW. Current as always was a factor, when we had a little wind and some flow it was on! Water temps have increased to the upper 80’s, actually today I saw 92.5 on the back channel. Our better fish came on Tightline Football Head Jig’s (Guntersville Special and Black/Blue) and Lucky Craft Sammy’s on top. We also worked these areas with El Grande hatch match sticks, Boom R Ang’s and Ol’Monsters. We caught a few fish around channel grass edges using a compact spinnerbait from Assassinator Baits. The grass is topping out, all over the lake and the shad are balling up in it. We did find somes good fish on Frog and Rats this past week. I have a the 30 and 31st open and I'm already booking days for the August and early fall; make your reservations now for some great summer time action on Guntersville and Nickajack. We supply all fishing gear, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost to you and 110% dedication to making your trip successful. Make your reservations now for some great action on Tennessee River. “Let’s go fish’ in”
