In the beginning, I was naïve and sympathetic to some of the things that SLISA stated they wanted. But that was before I learned SLISA’s goals don’t include a concern for overdevelopment. Until that becomes a purpose of this group, you'll have difficulty getting some of us to support it. It would be a shame if Smith Lake turned into something like Lake Lanier is now with numerous dense lakefront developments, docks with 50+ slips etc.. This comment by you say’s it all:

“County government representatives would disagree with some of the comments that suggest a curtailment of new houses and condos on the lake. Look at the tax dollars generated. We live in a changing world and "yesterdays" living is history.”

If that’s SLISA’s vision for tomorrow, Smith Lake is doomed. You say you like the way TVA manages the water level in its lakes. Would you also support APCO following TVA’s lead in keeping most of the lake's shoreline undeveloped?
