None at all. I am very pleased with this new style, although I do have one of the older ones I use for backup or overflow. So far this year about 250 pounds of meats smoked on it. I'm way behind last years pace though. Total for the year was over 800 pounds. Last night I did wish that it were a little bigger to allow a large pan to fit in it. I buy them at Sam's for serving and storage. It would be great to be able to use the MES as a warmer for those too..
I got a MB cold smoking kit and love it. It will keep producing smoke for about 6 hours on one fill of chips. In my opinion that's plenty long to get the flavor needed. I can also do cheese and fish with it since the MES doesn't have to be on at all. Bass Pro had them for $59.99.
