Sorry I've been tardy getting back to everyone, but I lost my password to the website and just received it.

My "our" baby boy is happy. He's in love, lust, with a beautiful chestnut red female quarterhorse. He has a wonderful new surrogate mother, a lavish barn with fans, stalls, etc., a georgeous pasture to run in, 4 mares and a gelding to keep him company, and vet care. He was filled with worms and has all his shots.

Iv'e seen him every weekend thus far since he's "left the island", but all of you know, as well as I, that to keep him out there during cold, harsh winters alone with food maybe once a week, and no vet care the entire time he was there, was inhumane.

Thanks to Elmore County Animal Control and Alabama Power, legal permission was obtained to get him off the island. We had heard that someone was going to desert another donkey out there with him. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT.

Thanks to all of you who helped feed him, keep him company, and love him during his time of imprisonment on the island. It was an expensive endeavor for the last 4 years for several of us who tried to get him food on a regular basis.

I know you all are happy for him. I've prayed for this time to come. I would have done it all over again, I just did not have pasture land to place him, and he is still close and loved by his new mama, me, Dean and anyone else who happens to come around.

He is a little fiesty getting used to other animals being around. He can be quite possessive, but his new mom is very patient, and so sweet to let me come see him whenever.

We will all miss him out there, but it was animal cruelty when everyone went home in the summer and he was thre all alone.

See you all on the lake.
