I agree w Toni, the Paces Pt VFD had very inspiring stories to tell. Lives were affected and they were there literally minutes after the tornado left.
See the below link, I took this picture of the Green Monster Fishing Light Bldg and Kelley's HVAC building the day after. I was down there talking to the survivors and shot this pic, it is one of my favorite and to me is a great example of everyone's attitude. The survivors were plucking up their courage and moving, and the volunteers like the PPVFD had not waited to be told what to do, or what govt agency should help, they jumped in and helped, spending money out of their own pockets to buy gas and supplies, long before the Feds declared that, lo and behold, we had an emergency.
