They say, Don't Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch...I ain't got no chickens so don't know, but do think the crappie are on the move from deep to shallow. I'm going to the North side around Wyboo and Potato Creek next week. Barring some unknown weather event I can forsee a cooler full of big fat crappie coming my way.(limit is 20 so better be a little cooler) The water temp. coming out of Moultrie is 66 degrees today. Some of the black water ponds will be a lot warmer. Marion has been on a warming trend for the last 7 days and the Temp. has come up from 57 to 66 degrees from the Moultrie discharge. Catfish, crappie, shellcracker, bass and stripers are all on the move now. Both lakes have been muddy from all the rain to the North. Marion has been getting shot after shot of mud coming down stream since Oct. 10, 2015 but it should be clearing and I'll take stained water over clear anytime, especially if there is an edge where muddy and clear meet. Fish like edges, it's the same as cover. Wish me luck guys, oh that's right, I have my very own fishing site. Anyway, I don't believe in fishing luck, it's more about local weather, variety of bait, presentation when and where.
