last year there was much discussion here regarding Bidens loan forgiveness program for students (& maybe parents who co-signed) who signed a promisory note for monies borrowed; I was quite vocal in my objection as to my tax monies going to this endeavor; i mentioned at that time my daughter had a private bank loan for her medical degree-rates and terms were better than federal ones at the time and UAB was pushing the bank program ( prob got a kick back);-private banks obviously  laughed at the idea of forgiveness as you would expect--but joey et al gave away billions of your tax money to thousands of  people you dont know , & some of which im sure went to other endeavors outside school; my daughter is a bio scientist and tests some of the viruses you are scared of and hope to never contract-sometimes this involved wearing hazmat suits all her shift; anyway, Tuesday she made her final payment and is now debt free; and i'm proud to say she never missed a payment over 10 years and maintained an 800+ credit score--now maybe she can enjoy life a little more , take a trip, and save to replace her 12 yr old honda; anyway,  rest assured  that none of YOUR tax monies went to pay off her loan !

Congrats to your daughter.  Only one of my three children (son) has student debt and his monthly payments are only $180.  I don't blame people for taking the freebie and I would have told my kids to if given the opportunity.  Sadly they are the ones that will be paying for someone else's college debt.  It infuriates my son no end that this happened while he is paying his own.
