Shortly after 3:15 PM, the Pell City Marine and Aviation assets were contacted by the State to assist in locating a missing/overdue kayack. The State Marine Police, PCPD Marine Unit and others searched the lake as the helicopter searched from the air. The 46 year old kayacker was found deceased by authorities in Lincoln. Preliminary reports indicate he died of a possible drowing and was not wearing a flotation device.
